TERMITES

Termites are underground insects that feed on wood, frequently damaging homes and other buildings. Termites cause billions of dollars in structural damage, and every year home and building owners spend over two billion dollars on preventing and treating termite damage.

Termites live in colonies of up to several million. The worker termites are about 1/4 inch long and cream-colored without eyes. They use chemical forms of communication to perform their duties.

There are also soldier termites with large heads and jaws that protect the workers and defend the colony. The king and queen of the colony are brown in color. As adults, they are wingless, but they start their life cycle with wings so they can swarm to form a new colony.

RODENTS

Rodents such as rats and mice can carry harmful diseases. Diseases from these rodents can spread to people through bite wounds, by eating food or water rodents have contaminated, or breathing in dust with their dried urine or droppings that are stirred into the air. People can also get diseases from ticks, mites and fleas that have been feeding on sick rats and mice.

COCKROACHES

Cockroaches can be found all over the world, with the ability to survive in all kinds of environments. In a home, you can find cockroaches living under large appliances like refrigerators and stoves, under drains, in sinks, even inside machinery motors. With the ability to flatten their bodies, cockroaches can fit and thrive in tiny areas. If you find one cockroach, there is a good chance more are around the corner. Due to their dirty habits, roaches are one insect you don’t want to keep around for long. Cockroaches are great transporters of disease and bacteria, potentially causing issues to the people living in the same proximity. If roaches have penetrated a home or business, you need to get rid of cockroaches quickly and effectively to prevent future problems.

BED BUGS

Bed bugs are small insects about the size of an apple seed that feed on the blood of animals or humans. With an average lifespan of a year, they are prolific breeders, and a single female can lay hundreds of eggs in her lifetime. Bedbugs are attracted to warmth, moisture and the carbon dioxide released from warm-blooded animals. Since bed bugs are primarily nocturnal and feed at night when people are asleep or resting, an infestation can go unnoticed for a long period of time—unless you know what to look for. Bed bugs are often found in box springs, headboards, and bed frames, but can be present in all types of furniture including office chairs, couches in a restaurant or the seats in a movie theatre. People can transport bed bugs from one location to another without knowing it

GENERAL PESTS – SPIDERS,ANTS,ETC.

Spiders like moisture and are found in basements, crawl spaces and other damp parts of buildings. Others like dry, warm areas such as subfloor air vents, upper corners of rooms and attics. They hide in dark areas. Tens of thousands of spider species have been identified throughout the world. These arachnids have eight legs and two body segments. Spiders have three or four pair of eyes. Many spiders have poor vision, but some species of spiders, such as the jumping spider, have exceptional vision.

Ants are common insects that can be found in most parts of the world. While there are many different species of ants, all ants have a few defining characteristics. They have bodies with three sections: a head, an abdomen and a thorax. In addition, all ants have six legs and bent antennae.
